Chitika earnings

If you haven’t yet implemented Chitika ads on your site, you may be missing out on some extra revenue.

I’ve been using Chitika for some months now, and as you can see from the image on the left, it works great for me.

It may be difficult to decide whether Chitika rocks or not if you don’t have some inside info, so I’ll try to shed some light on this program to help you decide.

Here are 10 reasons why Chitika rocks:

Do You Want To Make More Money Online?

If you ask this question to internet marketers and bloggers most of them would give you a weird stare and say, “OF COURSE, man, what kind of question is that? ;)

But if you then ask them WHY they want to make more money, you’ll often see a blank expression on their face accompanied with no immediate answer.

So many people get stuck in this more-money race that they completely lose sight of the big picture.

Think about it: money is either metal, paper, or numbers.

Countdown to Freedom Begins

As I already mentioned in the About Me page, my contract here at the Tennis Academy of Asia in Bangkok ends on 31st of December, 2007.

That means that on the 1st of January 2008 I’ll be a free man. ;)

My online income gives me the financial freedom to do what I choose to do and not be forced into some work that I don’t like.

Try This Widget To Get Targeted Traffic To Your Blog

John Reese has just released a cool new widget for blogs that will supposedly increase traffic to your site.

I say “supposedly” since we’ll all have to test and see whether this really works. ;)

As you can see I have added the widget below my Categories section and you can see some related articles in that section.

If you click on one of those articles my blog will be credited with 1 point and one of my articles will appear on one of the related internet marketing, money making or financial freedom blogs.

There is also a 10 Tier referral system so it’s best if you sign up early to get some people under you which will help you get more traffic.

If you haven’t signed up yet you can do so here.

7 Link Building Tips For Newborn Blogs

Since I started my main tennis website 2 years ago I have met and made many tennis friends among the internet community.

If I decide to start a new tennis website, I can just send a few emails and I’ll soon receive good quality links.

Not so with the Freedom Ideas blog. It’s my first internet marketing related blog and I basically have to start from scratch.

The Freedom Ideas blog is only 2 months old I am still very active in getting quality links to it.

Here are some of the ways I am building links now when this blog is still a baby:

What’s Your Real CTR?

I often come across forum posts where people complain about their poor CTR in Adsense.

But in my opinion the Adsense CTR numbers don’t tell you the real story.

Adsense stats report clicks / page impressions and that’s your adsense Click Through Ratio.

What is important is the real CTR which for means how many of the visitors clicked on something!

I love to combine Adsense and Chitika and occassionaly sneak in an Amazon affiliate link.

So the real question is whether your overall CTR is good.

Why So Many People Fail Online

If you want to be successful in anything you do, it takes time.

It takes time to learn the fundamentals of tennis strokes, playing a violin or driving a car and it takes time to learn the fundamentals of earning money online.

This can take you from a few weeks to many months, depending on:

1. Your source of information:
- is it accurate,
- does it guide you with a step by step process
- does it offer simple tools to get you started

2. You
- are you disciplined enough to follow through
- are you distracted by hundreds of other offers promising you $3,000 in 30 days with 15 minutes of work per day
- how much time do you spend learning and using the knowledge

The Inside And The Outside Of Freedom Ideas Blog

I finally decided on a design(-er) of this blog so here are some things that make this blog run efficiently from the inside and what makes it look good on the outside:

The Inside

The blog of course uses Wordpress as its main “engine”. It’s not my first experience with Wordpress since I already use it with my tennis blog.

Then there are all sorts of useful plugins:

1. Akismet spam plugin which comes with the Wordpress install files and just needs to be activated. It’s doing a great job. ;)

2. The All in One SEO Pack takes care of titles and descriptions of the pages and makes sure that there is no duplicate content on the blog

Link Exchange Mistakes You Don’t Want To Make

Although link exchanges are supposedly losing the importance of bringing pagerank and higher search engine rankings to your website, they are still working.

Why supposedly? Well, I’ve read a lot of articles stating that reciprocal link exchanges are dead, but have never found any scientific proof.

But I did find this on Matt Cutts’ blog:

“Reciprocal links by themselves aren’t automatically bad, but we’ve communicated before that there is such a thing as excessive reciprocal linking.”

So exchanging links is not wrong, as long as it is not excessive.

Do You Really Know What Your Visitors Look For?

Deep inside each one of us is the desire to get what we want, whether that’s money, recognition, financial freedom, or the ability to be our own boss.

But to get what you want, you need to serve other people and help them to get what they want.

In return, they will pay for your goods or services, or offer some other valuable item service.

How do you know what your visitors are looking for?

Ask them. ;)

This may seem like an obvious answer, and it is. But the fact is, most of us don’t do it.
