Jeremy,

Don't know, I haven't analyzed that. I've also rarely done that and I really don't see this as the key to link building and good rankings.

For me the key were always link exchanges with high quality sites.

Tomaz,

does submitting original content to 5 different
web 2.0 properties as opposed to spinning an article 5 times help rankings that much more

thanks

Jeremy,

I might have done that a few times but in most cases I just email them suggesting a link exchange - very similarly to what the Value Exchange email looks like.

The "secret" is not really in how you write but whether you have some something to offer to the other party. Does your site looks well, does it have lots of interesting content and also in many cases do you have a good pagerank link to offer or not.

That will typically determine whether you'll get a positive response or not. It's really tough when starting from scratch and PR0. Really tough.

That's why most people give up and that's why you have such a good chance with your website, whatever it is about. There's not much competition on top.

Hi Tomaz,

thanks for your great website.

For link exchanges, you go out and find 50 potential link partners, do you then put up 50 outbound links on your site and then email them. Then the ones that accept you keep and the ones that don't you take down their link.

Is this the process.

thanks.

Hi Joe,

Thanks for stopping by!

My thoughts on your questions:

1. I still submit my site to a few other directories but I don't see any significant difference in pagerank or traffic or rankings in Google.

But I would submit to max 10 other directories besides the 4 or 5 I recommend. Those 100s and more are not worth it - I have tested that already.

2. I don't think spinning is the way to go and I've never done it. I have done some test with article directories and 4 worked well for me, the rest made no difference whatsoever.

If you can see continuous traffic from some article sites, I would appreciate if you share your experiences...

Hey Tomaz,

Great stuff here...I'm glad a fellow SBIer pointed me in your direction. I was originally looking for info on using Chitika in combination with Adsense, but have found the rest of your information very valuable as well.

Now, I have two questions...

1. I've been with SBI for a few years now, and currently have 3 sites. When I started out, I found a post on the forums that listed many (50-100+) directories we should submit to. Examples - Exactseek, Chiff, Searchsight, and many others. These range from a PR 0 to PR 5.

You suggest we only submit to 4 or 5 directories...do you still feel that way? Is there any benefit to submitting to 100+ directories? Or is it more beneficial to submit to a few very high quality directories?

2. I've submitted quite few articles related to my basketball site and my inspirational quotes site - mainly to EzineArticles, Searchwarp and Goarticles. These have done well for me as far as driving traffic to my sites and getting incoming links. To optimize this process, I've considered utilizing an article spinning/submission service that my friend offers. How do you feel about spinning and submitting articles to 150+ directories? Have you ever used a service like this? If so, was it beneficial?

Thanks again...I look forward to hearing from you soon.
