I liked you article because it reminded me of why I’m trying to ‘break free’. It’s not so that I can make more money than I’ll ever be able to spend, it’s so that I WILL have choices. I fully expect to work hard at this, but I won’t let it define me – and yes there is a very small light at the end of the tunnel.

nice pictures My online journey started before 2 years and I am on my way of financial freedom, probably in a year I plan not to work so much, but time will show.

It is very easy to fall into internet addiction and sometimes I find myself 12 hours in front of the laptop.

I love to travel and what I love the most with the internet business is that you can do the job everywhere around the world.

My last travel was to Rome, Italy and it remember me my initial goal – to have time to visit and taste new things, not to become a slave of me.

By the way, go to Rome if you haven’t

Good points Diane, Hank and Adi!

While someone may really enjoy working behind the computer the whole day right now (since he is so obsessed with money or wants to protect himself from emotional pain which often happens when interacting with people), I am sure that person will be actually very sad on his death bed.

That’s the real thing – looking at the whole story of life and thinking: “What interesting things can I experience in my short time down here? Hmm…”

That person will actually experience just sitting behind a computer. With 20k per month, he could have easily visited Phuket for 2 weeks and came back behind his PC. His earnings wouldn’t have dramatically changed but he would have had a new experience…

I want the passive income so I am free to do more traveling (or whatever else) when I want. If I had to work 8-10 hours every day to keep the money coming in, I might as well get a job with benefits.

Of course, everyone is different and maybe someone else is happy working that much. I just know it is not for me. I want the time to enjoy my life with family and friends.

First off – Phuket caught my attention, went there about 5 years ago and had a really good time! Good photos!

Secondly, I find myself gravitating more towards being on the computer a lot of my free time also. I’ve got 2 kids under 4 so I don’t get a lot of time on it. I’d be he could cut down some of the time on there somewhere if he really wanted to, but it makes the story so much more dramatic if he doesn’t; not the life for me either though…

Yes, what I want to do when I someday finally achieve my financial freedom, as not become a slave of money just to get my family’s belly full , is to get enough TIME for me to enjoy my life. I personally think, even if you have a gazillion dollars in your bank account but you still can’t escape work, or not having enough time to watch your children grow, that would not be what I call as ‘achievement of life’.

But then again, it’s a completely different story if you really, really LOVE what you’re doing. What can I say, that guy earns 20 grand a month by doing what he likes best. If I don’t hear him complaining, I’d say he enjoys every second of it, which that makes him successful in financial terms.

What do you think?

BTW, you should definitely try to visit Bali, Indonesia. It’s only a couple of hours plane ride from Phuket, and the place simply breathtaking.
