My Site Has Pagerank 3! Do I Still Need To Build Links?
I thought this Q&A email conversation would be useful to others when it comes to understanding pagerank and link building – so here we go:
—————————————-
Hi Tomaz,
I just realized that my site is now a PR3! Just wanted to share.
Earlier this year I made some major changes to my site. Instead of focusing on the “keyword”, I now focus only on the “long tail keyword” (a specific model) and I’ve expanded to include “another keyword”.
Over time I expect my site to be only 20% “keyword” and 80% “another keyword”. I was initially concerned that this might be a problem because Google might have trouble figuring out my site concept.
However this is not the case. I’m receiving lots of searches for “another keyword” related keywords. So this seems to be working well. Read more
Fake Pagerank – 2 Steps For Detecting Fake PR Websites
I’ve gotten a fair share of link exchange emails and some of them offered to place a link to my site on a high pagerank site.
Well, some of these sites have a fake pagerank displayed. I don’t know how they do it but I do know how to detect fake pagerank sites and stay away from these losers and cheaters.

Google has recently removed the Pagerank metric from the Google Webmaster Tools and there are all sorts of blog posts popping up claiming that Pagerank is dead. (again?)
I’ve been now actively involved with Internet marketing for 4 years and want to share my findings related to Pagerank – as I disagree that Pagerank is dead.
My findings are not based on a scientific study but on experience and I don’t claim that they are the unviversal truth about Pagerank. But there is some hard logic behind my ideas so I invite you to check them out. Read more
Marius from marathon-training-schedule.com
Special thanks to Marius Bakken from marathon-training-schedule.com for being the first SBI-er to share his story on my blog. My questions to Marius are in bold…

1. Why did you decide for SBI?
I first heard about SBI in 1999 when I bough Ken’s hardcover “Make Your Site Sell” book on how to build a website. I signed up to his newsletter all the way back in 2000 and have been on it since, but only eventually gave in a little over a year ago to sign up
In the meantime I ran a personal site called mariusbakken.com. It did well but I wanted a more business type approach to building a website. So I finally decided for the SBI solution when I had some time to follow that idea. Read more

Since I started my main tennis website 2 years ago I have met and made many tennis friends among the internet community.
If I decide to start a new tennis website, I can just send a few emails and I’ll soon receive good quality links.
Not so with the Freedom Ideas blog. It’s my first internet marketing related blog and I basically have to start from scratch.
The Freedom Ideas blog is only 2 months old I am still very active in getting quality links to it.
Here are some of the ways I am building links now when this blog is still a baby:
Mastering The Pagerank Flow
Chances are that your website has a nice little green bar at the top, which indicates that you have some Google pagerank (PR).
The pagerank passes from page to page in a complicated mathematical formula.
In general, every subpage has a pagerank value of one point less than the page above it.
For example, if your homepage has a PR of 4, then your main pages, which are linked from your homepage, will have a PR of 3, and all their subpages will have a PR of 2.
